Café Barista

Café team members will be responsible for providing industry leading hospitality and food service at the Community Café inside a large corporate office building located at 3500 Lacey Rd, Downers Grove IL.

The Café will operate Monday-Friday and will be responsible for all food production and service during breakfast and lunch hours. What You’ll Do:

• Provide efficient, industry best hospitality at Point of Sales (POS) stations throughout lunch rush by greeting guests with a smile, offering menu knowledge as needed and quickly move guests through the line
• Quickly complete POS transactions by scanning and/or inputting items correctly, taking in cash and providing change or processing card transactions 
• Responsible for cash drawer security, cash balance and adhering to all other aspects of cash handling policy
• Assist managers in developing a team of food safety champions through team collaboration to ensure all food safety/HACCP systems and standards are strictly adhered to and executed daily
• Stock supplies of paper goods, condiments, beverages, grocery and grab and go items
• Clean, organize and maintain all café stations and dining room
• Assist with light prep, packaging, delivery and assembly of catering orders
• Answer phone professionally and answer any questions/requests from customers
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

•        At least 18 years of age
•     Illinois Food Handler certification
•    Guest service and cash handling experience preferred

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a chaotic, fast-paced, fun environment  

• Guest focused, friendly, engaging and constantly learning  

• Hard-working, reliable and a great team player 

•    Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day 
•        Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 
•        Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length 

•        Must be able to communicate in and read and understand English 
•        Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time 
•        Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodation
