The Vice President of Restaurant & Consumer Applications will be responsible for the strategy, design, development, and First-Class support & operation of our Restaurant & Consumer facing applications that are a key component of our overall growth strategy. This position will be responsible for building, managing, and mentoring a high-performance team of employees and contractors supporting packaged solutions, custom development, and integrations supporting our restaurants and guests. Additionally, this position will be responsible for creating and maintaining alignment with key stakeholders within the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Build a high-performance team that delivers technology solutions that propel company growth and further differentiates the brand
- Drive the strategic direction of the solutions supporting our restaurants, wine club members, and guests
- Collaborate with senior leadership and business areas to define and implement a technology roadmap in support of strategic initiatives
- Lead the product development lifecycle for restaurant applications and consumer-facing applications
- Develop business cases for solutions alternatives and make recommendations
- Provide leadership across the organization in selecting, implementing new, replacement and upgrades to solutions
- Review existing systems in relation to future needs and benefits and recommend improvements
- Guide the definition and implementation of a roadmap for areas of responsibility
- Guide architecture decisions for solutions in areas of responsibility
- Define and implement modern development practices in conjunction with peers
- Implement processes and procedures in support of best practices, internal controls, and compliance
- Define and monitor key performance indicator (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of applications
- Allocate team resources to ensure quality and timely delivery of features across multiple projects and support services
- Own the relationship with external partners, vendors, and technology providers whose products or services we leverage
- Define and manage the capital and operating budget for areas of responsibility
What You'll Need:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology or equivalent
- 15+ years’ experience in a senior leadership technology role in overseeing applications strategy and development
- 10+ years' experience forming and leading technology teams
- 10+ years leading package software implementations
- 10+ years leading strategic projects, both custom development and software implementations
- 5+ years leading a development organization
- 5+ years leading a team providing support
- Experience in selecting, implementing, and operating package software including customizations, add-ons, and integrations
- Experience leading custom development teams through new systems as well as evolution and maintenance of existing systems
- Experience with mission-critical employee facing technology supporting customers
- Experience with consumer engagement/guest facing technology – in-person and digital driving the customer experience
- Experience with the use of data and analytics insights to drive the customer experience
- Experience in various systems development lifecycle methodologies – waterfall and agile
- Familiarity with modern development technologies and practices
- Familiarity with application security best practices
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks – PCI, ITIL, Data Privacy
- Experience in developing technical strategy and roadmaps
- Experience building a business case
- Experience in planning and managing complex programs and projects
- Experience managing capital and operating budgets
- Experience with restaurant, retail, or hospitality software
- Experience with multi-location operations
- Innovative thinker, able to envision how technology can be implemented to solve business challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
